WHAT IS GAY BRIDGE?
This is an event for bridge players of all levels, from beginners to expert. Duplicate and social bridge will be offered.
GAY BRIDGE 2010 will be the 12th Anniversary Tournament!
IS THIS TOURNAMENT SANCTIONED BY ACBL?
Yes. ACBL Masterpoints will be awarded.
All Bridge play is under the direction of an ACBL certified director.
WHERE WILL THE BRIDGE TOURNAMENT BE HELD?
GAY BRIDGE 2010 has moved to the newly built luxurious and exciting
Hotel Zoso

All Bridge play will be at the Hotel Zoso.
The IAGLBC Hospitality Suite will be in a special condo directly across the street from the Zoso.
ARE THERE ALTERNATE HOUSING OPTIONS?
There are many housing options in Palm Springs, ranging from B&B, guest houses, to luxury hotels.
DO I NEED TO PRE-REGISTER FOR THE BRIDGE TOURNAMENT?
Yes. Pre-registration is required. Note the discounted price for early registration.

WHAT TYPE OF EVENTS WILL BE OFFERED?
Duplicate and social Bridge will be offered every day.
There will be Bridge lectures, plus beginner level events are also planned.
IAGLBC GAY BRIDGE 2010 puts an emphasis on a friendly atmosphere with social interactions.
At GAY BRIDGE 2010 the
standard ACBL position on Zero Tolerance will be enforced,
i.e., all are there to enjoy Bridge and have fun, and no
rude behavior at the Bridge tables will be allowed.
WHAT IF I WANT TO COME BUT HAVE NO BRIDGE PARTNER?
There will be a partners desk which will arrange pairing. All registered participants are guaranteed to play.
WHAT LEVEL OF BRIDGE PLAYERS WILL BE AT THE TOURNAMENT?
All levels of Bridge players will be present. Beginners and Novices are encouraged to attend.
All play is stratified, and
Bridge players of every level, from beginners to Life Masters play in these tournaments.
WHAT ARE THE PLANNED TIMES FOR THE TOURNAMENT?
A detailed schedule will be published on this web site a few weeks before the tournament. However, for general plannning
purposes it may be noted that the tournament will begin at noon on Tuesday and will conclude by 5 P.M. on Sunday.
Duplicate and social Bridge will be offered each day, with a mix of events including Swiss pairs and Kock-outs, plus there will be Bridge lectures and beginner level events. Players may play as much or as little as they may wish. The schedule offers a choice of events. Each afternoon and evening the Hospitality Suite will be open and refreshments will be provided.
WHAT ELSE DOES PALM SPRINGS OFFER, PARTICULARLY FOR MY NON-BRIDGE PLAYING PARTNER?
Palm Springs is a great vacation destination for all people. There are many restaruants and interesting shops, plus the surrounding beauty of the dessert, the tram ride to top of the mountain, as well as golf and other sports to enjoy. Everyone will find much to see and do at Gay Bridge 2010!
WHAT IS THE TENTATIVE DAILY SCHEDULE FOR GAY BRIDGE 2010?
See the GAY BRIDGE 2009 schedule as a Guideline for 2010. Comments and suggestions concerning this schedule are invited.
WHAT ABOUT THE HOSPITALITY SUITE?
The IAGLBC Hospitality Suite will be available from Tuesday afternoon, October 31, where players may gather to
socialize, enjoy refreshments, tell of their latest Bridge conquests. During the tournament, the Hospitality Suite is open each afternoon and evening
for the Social Hour.
CAN I EXPECT TO MEET NEW PEOPLE?
Bridge players from all over the USA are expected to attend. International players have registered for past Gay Bridge Tournaments.
HOW IS THIS EVENT PUBLICIZED TO OTHER GAY AND LESBIAN BRIDGE PLAYERS?
Watch for IAGLBC's advertisement in the ACBL Bulletin. Promotion is also done through local Gay and Lesbian Bridge Clubs.
Press releases and reports of events are sent to Gay and Lesbian newspapers.
The IAGLBC tournament has been mentioned in the New York Times (February 27, 2004).
Word of mouth reports from previous participants are a widespread way of sharing news off what a fun event is this IAGLBC tournament!
WILL THERE BE AWARDS AT THE IAGLBC TOURNAMENT?
Yes. The IAGLBC tournament is sanctioned by ACBL and master points will be awarded. Also, other prizes will be awarded.
CAN I COME ONLY FOR THE WEEKEND?
Yes. A weekend-only registration option is offered.
HOW DO I REGISTER FOR THIS TOURNAMENT?
A Gay Bridge 2010 registration form can be printed from the Registration Page. Registration fee should be paid by check or postal money order. IAGLBC cannot accept registration payment by credit card. Note: Pre-registration is required to play in this tournament.
